We are having a heat wave, it got to 50 today, with partial sunshine.  I was really tired of the rain.  It’s suppose to shine for a couple of days and we are going to take full advantage of it.

Today we went to the National Corvette Museum. You would think it’s a guy thing but I personally found it very interesting. I’m quite sure I will never see another like it.  It was fun watching Jerry salivating with his tongue almost hanging out.  They had some simply unbelievable Corvettes there.  It’s a huge place and really shows off America’s sports car.  There were over 70 Corvettes showcased in periodic setting.  That made it interesting for me.  There were classics in mint condition and my favorites, one of a kind peototypes,  that never went into production.  One of them was so beautiful and stylish.  It was prettier than candy appple red and I just wanted to lick it, it looked that delicious.  They had some race track champs there, Tommy would have liked this museum.

There was a movie and lots and lots of paraphanalia relating to the history of the Corvette. The overhead music would occas play the theme from the old TV show  Route 66, It was one of my favorite TV shows long ago,  Does anyone remember it?  This museum opened in 1994 and they just had their 15 yr anniversary on Labor Day.  Caravans of Corvettes came form all over the US and foreign countries driving to Bowling Green Ky.  For the 10 yr reunion they said there were caravans of Corvettes for over 200 miles long. I would really like to have been here to see that.  I did get pictures of my favorite Vetts.

On the way out, George, they had a special, on loan, from GM, about 30 Corvairs of all types.  Got some pictures for you.    There was a sedan and convertable and Van like  you’ve already restored.  This display will only be here for a couple months more.

Here in bowling Green is the only Corvette plant in the world.  They do tours, but we are not that  much into Corvettes, so we will pass. Jerry tells me that the stars are out tonight, so tomorrow will be a sightseeing day and Mon we head west.  More later,       Hugs , S and J
